Draft Wollongong City Centre LEP 2007
Submissions are now closed and under review.
A draft Local Environment Plan to amend the Wollongong City Centre Local Environmental Plan 2007 is on exhibition for public comment. The amendments seek to correct minor anomalies within the Plan to reinforce Wollongong’s role as a regional centre to serve the existing and future population of the region. The amendments include the following:
- Correcting the zoning for portions of Andrew Lysaght Park, Lang Park and Wiseman Park Bowling Club to reflect ownership. Belmore Basin is also proposed to be zoned, as it is currently unzoned
- Listing 29 Campbell Street, Wollongong as a heritage item, at the request of the property owner and correcting minor errors to the heritage map
- Updating the SP3 Tourism zone, to make it more compatible with the aims of Council’s draft city-wide LEP
- Permitting ground floor restaurants along Cliff Road, Wollongong
- Identifying parts of Corrimal Street and Town Hall Place for road widening and acquisition.
