West Dapto Access Stategy

Wollongong City Council Administrators have adopted a strategy on 27 October 2009 that looks at new and affordable solutions to address traffic concerns of existing and future residents in West Dapto.

There is currently only one suitable access road in and out of West Dapto and as part of the West Dapto Access Strategy Council will reduce congestion by creating three options for motorists to choose from.

A $16 million road link will be built between Fairwater Drive and Cleveland Road connecting to the Princes Highway to provide an alternative route in and out of Horsley and West Dapto. Council will widen Bong Bong Road at the level crossing and improve West Dapto Road and Shone Avenue with new bridges and traffic signals to reduce congestion and increase safety.
