Proposed road works
Cliff Road, Wollongong
Wollongong City Council proposes to remove the existing clay paver thresholds in Cliff Road and Endeavour Drive near Marine Drive and to replace them with a single pedestrian refuge as shown on the drawing 4292_C01_A. The pedestrian refuge is one of a number traffic calming and pedestrian facilities along Cliff Road as part of the “Blue Mile” project.
The refuge will form a clearly defined single crossing point of Cliff Road for pedestrians and cyclist and remove the two existing crossing points in Cliff Road. These existing crossing points, due to the nature of the surface finish, has lead pedestrians to believe that they have the same status as a formal marked pedestrian crossing.
Detail plans of the proposed facilities can also be viewed in the Design Section on Level 6 of the Council’s Administration Building,
It is estimated that construction works will be completed before the end of June 2008.
