The Wollongong Botanic Garden is a fantastic teaching resource. That's why the Discovery Centre offers educational programs for tertiary and adult students from TAFE and other registered training organisations.

We offer a diverse array of environmental programs - from introducing education students studying for their diplomas or Bachelors of Education to the principles and techniques of teaching environmental sustainability, to biogeography students learning about the distribution of plants and their communities.

We also cater to visiting international students wanting to have a rewarding learning experience from the gardens while they're in Australia.

The experienced education staff, trained in many areas of the environment, can offer a program to suit your groups' learning needs, and would be happy to discuss lesson possibilities tailored to your group.

Class sizes will be limited for certain activities due to safety considerations and staffing resources.
  • Maximum of 100 TAFE and university students per class.
  • Maximum of 30 international students per class
