A range of opportunties to assist and learn from our experience staff

If you are thinking about volunteering your time to a worthwhile cause then the Wollongong Botanic Garden needs you!

We are interested in recruiting volunteers in the following fields:

Rainforest Development

Work with our expert Horticulturists in developing our unique Rainforest Collection. Volunteers will learn traditional horticulture and bush regeneration techniques in the ongoing development of this beautiful part of the Garden.

Propagation

Learn how to propagate and grow on plants at our Nursery. All plants propagated by our Volunteers are sold by the Friends of the Wollongong Botanic Garden, and these funds are used to further develop the Botanic Garden

Volunteer Tour Guides

We are seeking interested individuals who would like to learn to conduct public tours in the garden, public tours are held the first Sunday of every month.

Education Volunteers

Volunteer opportunities exist for people interested in helping our education team deliver programs within the Garden.

Fundraising Volunteers

Opportunities exist for people who would like to work with the Friends of the Botanic Garden raising funds through the Frogs Hollow Group. We also need people to help our Friends with morning tea’s that are served at various events in the Garden. All volunteers receive a complimentary membership to the Friends of the Wollongong Botanic Garden group.
