Botanic Gardens runs a variety of school holiday programs

The Wollongong Botanic Garden's school holiday program runs during every term break for five days. All the programs, and their interactive and hands-on activities are planned around an environmental theme, and are focused on teaching kids about sustainability.

April 2012 School Holiday Program

Kitchen Garden and the Worlds Biggest Compost

Monday 16 April to Friday 20 April, from 10am-1pm daily


Daily Program:

  • 10am Treasure Hunt – Uncover all the magic pieces of art made from waste through the garden
  • 11am  Waste Wise Crafts  
  • 12 noon Picnic lunch 
  • 12.15pm Garden Show – Ziggy and the Incredible Time Machine

The activities are suitable for kids between 3 and 12 years, and they must be accompanied by an adult.


Costs are $8 per child, or $16 for a family of three or more children. EFTPOS is available.
Bookings aren't necessary for families and individuals, but vacation care groups need to reserve a spot by contacting the Botanic Garden office on (02) 4225 2636 or emailing botanicgarden@wollongong.nsw.gov.au


You'll find the School Holiday Program in the Discovery Centre. To get there, enter the Wollongong Botanic Gardens from the end of Madoline St, Keiraville. Don't forget to bring a hat and sunscreen.
 
Tea, coffee, a sausage sizzle and gifts are for sale from the Friends of the Botanic Garden and the Lions Club.
