Licences and regulations
There are a large number of health and safety regulations associated with running a business.
Types of businesses within the Wollongong City Council area that are required to be registered by Council include:
- food shops;
- hairdressing salons and skin penetration premises;
- all buildings which contain water cooling systems;
- mortuaries;
- caravan parks and manufacturing home estates;
- any place with a public swimming pool or spa pool.
Council also investigates complaints associated with health and safety risks, such as vermin and smoking in public places.
