Seniors Week is all about recognising the valuable contributions older people make in our community, and it provides the chance to highlight the range of interests and achievements of people over the age of 55.
Council has promoted this annual event for more than 30 years and our local celebrations are among the biggest in the state.
This year, we've got a whole host of activities themed around 'Live Life'. And whether you fancy trying your hand at something creative like felt-making, getting tech-savvy using Facebook, or giving your grey matter a workout with an educational lecture, there's something for you.
The full Seniors Week program is available to download a copy of the booklet from here, pick up a copy at all Wollongong City Council libraries and Community Centres, or get a copy sent to you by calling Customer Service on (02) 4227 7111.
Tickets to all the Seniors Week events will go on sale on Monday 20 February. They can be purchased from Wollongong City Council's Cashiers Desk in the Burelli Street Administration Building.

United Nations International Day for Older Persons
Do you know someone who deserves recognition for their support of older people in our community? It might be someone who has promoted the integration of older people into Wollongong's social and cultural life, or who has worked to provide for the needs of this city's older population.
Nominations are now being called for the United Nations International Day for Older Persons 2011 City of Wollongong Award. The award winner will be invited to participate in the Seniors Week activities.
