From Monday, 22 November until Christmas Council's Christmas Elf will be hiding in the CBD! When you find him each week, he'll give you a chance to win $1000* to spend in the CBD.

Terms and Conditions 

*Wollongong City Council Christmas Cash Promotion – Terms & Conditions of Entry

1. Information on prizes and how to enter form part of these conditions of entry. Entry is open to all community members in NSW. Community members must not have outstanding rates or debts to Council.
2. Employees and immediate families of the Promoter, associated companies and agencies, are ineligible to enter the promotion.
3. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these conditions. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspect of the promotion is final and binding on each person who enters.
4. The Promoter, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to verify the eligibility and validity of all entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, including but not limited to, techniques designed to avoid payment, or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.
5. This offer is valid from 9am EDT Wednesday, 24 November 2010 until 11.59pm EDT Sunday, 19 December 2010.
6. From 24 November 2010, anyone who ‘finds the Elf’ and places an entry form/coupon in the entry box will be in the chance to win the weekly $1000 draw. A new entry form/coupon needs to be put in the entry box each week to be in the chance to win the cash prize each week.
7. Entry Form coupons can be collected from the Mercury newspaper, the Advertiser newspaper and from Council’s Administration front desk throughout the promotional period.
8. On Mondays at 10am a random draw of all valid entries will take place at the offices of the Promoter, 41 Burelli Street, Wollongong NSW 2500. Draw dates are: 30 November, 6 December, 13 December and 20 December 2010.
9. One winner will be awarded the voucher prize each week to the value of $1000.
10. Winners will need to pick up their money voucher to be spent in Wollongong City Centre within 28 days of the draw date. Winners will need to comply with any rules and expiry dates of the voucher.
11. Winners will be notified by phone and announced on i98FM radio station and published on Council’s website.
12. There is no limit of number of times a person can win.
13. Total prize pool is up to the value of $4000.
14. This offer cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer.
15. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned including but not limited to technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
16. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, as a result of receiving the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
17. The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information in order to notify them if they have won and to use for promotion reporting only. Entrants further consent to the disclosure by the Promoter of their personal information to the related entities of the Promoter and to any third party services provider assisting the Promoter in the conduct of this promotion. All personal details of the entrants will be stored at the office of the Promoter. As per the relevant privacy legislation, a request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter at their address set out above.
18. The Promoter may conduct such draws as are necessary if the prize remains unclaimed three months after the draw in accordance with the appropriate legislation. If necessary, a draw will be conducted at 12.00 noon on Wednesday, 23 March 2011 at the Promoter’s offices, 41 Burelli Street, Wollongong NSW 2500.
