Nominations Open for 2017 Australia Day Awards
Do you know a person or community group who makes Wollongong a better place? Nominate them for our 2017 Australia Day Awards!
There are seven categories you can nominate in:
- Citizen of the Year
- Senior Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Arts & Cultural Achievement
- Community Group Award
- Sports Achievement Award
- Outstanding Achievement or Innovation.

Nominations must be received by Friday 2 December 2016.
2017 Stallholder and Vendor Applications NOW OPEN
Wollongong's Australia Day celebrations attract over 45,000 people, and we're inviting food stallholders and novelty vendors to participate by selling a variety of foods and products to contribute to the fun of the day. If you'd like to hold a stall at this event, you can now apply online.
Before submitting an application, make sure you have the following information ready:
- A copy of your Public Liability Insurance certificate of currency in a format that can be uploaded through our online form (eg, scanned image or PDF)
- Credit card details to complete payment online and lodge your application
- For food vendors:
- NSW Food Authority Number
- Wollongong City Council Food Business Number
- Food Safety Supervisor Number.

Early Bird Rates
An Early Bird rate is being offered until 30 November 2016. Following this date, vendors fees will increase as can be seen in the table below.
Sites will be allocated based on a first-in basis if duplication of business/food stall; local vendors will be given priority and applicants will be confirmed via email with a letter from Rotary.
Should you require more than one site, a separate application will be required for each site.

Volunteer at Australia Day
If you have a spare three hours or more on Australia Day, we invite you to join our team of volunteers to be part of this special event.
Volunteering is a great way to get experience working in events, or to just enjoy being part of a major community celebration. There are lots of different jobs for volunteers to do on the day.
