Council’s ongoing commitment is to provide safety and security for all residents and visitors to the City, and an important part of this is to be prepared for any emergency.

People have personal emergencies every day – you lock yourself out of the house or perhaps your car won’t start.  But for the purpose of preparing for an emergency, it can be defined as any incident that could cause death or significant injury or that could cause significant damage or disruption to your property, or which poses an environmental threat to your family that requires sudden and urgent action by individuals and agencies.

Take some time to read the information contained on this website and become familiar with your own emergency plans (home and work). By working together, we can be prepared for any emergency.

Details on types of emergencies and what to do in an emergency can be found on our emergency help webpage.

Should you have any comments on or suggestions for improvement to this website, please forward them to Council to help us improve this information.
