Multicultural services

The City of Wollongong enjoys a rich mixture of cultures, and actively promotes the celebration of the diverse cultural heritage of our community.

Wollongong is proud to have more than 80 nationalities represented within its boundaries - and across the Illawarra region, around one quarter of the population were born overseas.

As well as celebrating cultures from around the globe, the city promotes and supports the traditions and heritage of the region’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

We provide services to assist people from a wide range of cultures, and help promote inclusiveness and the celebration of cultural diversity in the broader community. These include services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Language Services and Multicultural Community Services.
