Council road and maintenance work
Council employees working on our roads
Wollongong City Council maintains $1.1 billion worth of assets in our local government area. These include roads, bridges, parks and sports fields, and Council-owned buildings.
Like local government authorities around Australia, we face a major challenge in keeping up with the maintenance of our city’s ageing infrastructure. To help address this issue, we’ve introduced a special program to focus additional resources on infrastructure maintenance.
Road works programs and the condition of roads around the city continue to be identified as issues of high priority and concern to our residents. We have a long term priority program which sets out the works scheduled, subject to available funding. For more information, including how this program is developed, go to the rolling works program section of this website.
