Keeping you safe on the road

Wollongong City Council takes an active role in making our community’s roads safer.

We demonstrate our commitment to road safety through our support and commitment to the NSW Local Government Road Safety Program.

This funding partnership with the Road and Traffic Authority (RTA) helps link state and local road safety priorities. It also identifies local road safety issues and contributes to future planning strategies to make our city roads safer.

Council’s road safety unit works with other Council divisions and the community to help resolve road safety issues and plan for a safer environment for all road users.

Wollongong City Council values its road safety partners who work closely together to achieve local outcomes. These include RTA, NSW Police, PCYC, NRMA Insurance, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven and Eurobodalla councils.
