Inner City Parking Strategy
The Inner City Parking Strategy was developed to address the traffic and parking objectives of the City Centre Revitalisation Strategy. Council endorsed the public exhibition of this strategy in October 2008. Community consultation occurring during November 2008 with approximately 150 submissions received.
In March 2009, Council endorsed a report on the results of the consultation and adopted the Inner City Parking Strategy. The Inner City parking Strategy consists of the following components:
Future parking stations
- Parking meters for on-street parking spaces and casual parking stations
- Improvements to pedestrian, bicycle and public transport facilities
- Key infrastructure to support the operation of the CBD shuttle bus
- A parking guidance system
