1. Public Exhibition of planning proposal for a number of amendments to the Wollongong LEP (West Dapto) 2010
The Wollongong Local Environmental Plan (West Dapto) 2010 came into force on 5 May 2010. Minor anomalies were found requiring correction and some definitions and provisions also require updating. These anomalies include correction to street address, spelling, updating clauses and minor rezoning of three sites and amendment to the minimum lot size maps.
These proposed amendments include:
- Part of Lot 1 DP 657171 and part Lot 1 DP 1118463, suburb – rezone to RE1 Public Recreation and add this site to the Land Acquisition Reservation maps.
- Part of Lot 11 DP 229044, Hamilton Street, Dapto – rezone to IN2 Light Industry, amend floor space ratio to 0.5:1 and amend the minimum lot size to 3,999sqm.
- Lots 1 and 2, DP 747729 Wongawilli Road, Wongawilli – rezone to R2 to reflect the gateway determination, amend the Floor Space Ratio Map, remove the minimum lot size from the Minimum Lot Size Map and remove building height controls.
- Amend the Land Acquisition Reservation maps to reflect road widening requirements for a number if sites in West Dapto.
- Amend the Minimum Lot Size maps for residential zones within 300m of Darkes Road and Bong Bong Road town centres to allow a minimum lot size of 300sqm.
- Part Lot 14 DP 255284 - amend the Minimum Lot Size map for the site to 40ha minimum.
- Clause 4.1 Minimum Subdivision Size be amended allow lots containing split zones to be subdivided along the minimum lot size boundary, or that any residual land be excluded from the minimum lot size requirements.
- Schedule 5 Environmental Heritage and the Heritage Maps be amended for the following sites:
- 10 and 13 Marshall Street, Dapto – delete listings as the items are demolished.
- “Glen Avon” house and dairy – delete listing as item is not within LEP 2010.
- Wongawilli Mine Railway –delete listing and remove from maps as it is incorrectly listed.
- Dapto Railway Station and Station Master’s Residence – amend significance from State to Local significance.
- Correcting reference numbers for some heritage items.
- Correcting a misspelling of ‘Moreton Bay’ fig.
The draft planning proposals will be on exhibition from 22 May 2011 to 24 June 2011.

2. Public Exhibition of Draft Planning Proposal - Proposed Road Widening Iredell Road, Horsley, amendments to the Wollongong LEP (West Dapto) 2010
Wollongong Local Environmental Plan (West Dapto) 2010 came into force on 5 May 2010. Council at its meeting of 14 December 2010 resolved that a planning proposal be submitted to the NSW Department of Planning amending the Land Acquisition Reservation Map in Wollongong Local Environmental Plan (West Dapto) 2010 indicating Council’s proposed acquisition of Iredell Road for local road widening.
The NSW Department of Planning issued the Gateway Determination, on 4 March 2011, requiring that the draft LEP is to be finalised within 9 months by 11 December 2011.
The amendment is to allow for widening of existing Iredell Road reservation to accommodate two (2) trafficable lanes and allow future development of New Road 7. Road 7 will include the upgrade of existing Iredell Road and forms part of the proposed Road network for the West Dapto urban Release Area.
The existing road reservation is 12.56 metres in width. A minimum road reservation width of 15.56 metres is required to accommodate the proposed two (2) lane road. The proposed widening is to the north side of the existing road reserve.
The following properties are affected by the draft planning proposal:
- Part Lot 2 DP 658275, 64 Shone Avenue, Horsley
- Part Lot 9 DP 33650, Iredell Road, Horsley
- Part Lot 8 DP 33650, Iredell Road, Horsley
- Part Lot 7 DP 33650, 116 Shone Avenue, Horsley.
The draft planning proposal will be on exhibition from 22 May 2011 to 24 June 2011.
