Council at its meeting of 26 October 2010 resolved to re-exhibit the revised draft Development Controls for the West Dapto Release Area for community input. The draft controls are proposed to form Chapter D16 in the Wollongong Development Control Plan 2009 (DCP). Draft Chapter D16 contains specific development controls to guide future urban development in the West Dapto Release Area, and supplements the standard provisions contained in the DCP.
The revised draft Chapter D16 West Dapto Release Area has been amended to reflect changes arising from the submissions, resulting from initial exhibition 21 December 2009 to 12 February 2010, as well as amendments due to recent changes in Section 94 legislation. The key amendments to the final chapter are better integration and cross referencing to the requirements within the other chapters of the Wollongong Development Control Plan 2009.
As a result of a decision to streamline controls and avoid duplication sections of Chapter D16 have been removed and replaced with a reference to other chapters in the Wollongong Development Control Plan 2009.
The Horsley Development Control Plan No 97/20 is proposed to be repealed upon the commencement of Chapter D16 West Dapto Release Area.
