Sister city relationship
An agreement was entered into in 1981 between Ohrid and Wollongong with a formal sister city agreement signed in 1999.
A formal relationship has also been developed between the University of Wollongong and the University of St Klimint in Ohrid.
Benefits and opportunities from this relationship have included:
- exhibition of the Terracotta Icons of Vinica at the Wollongong City Gallery
- students from Ohrid studying at University of Wollongong
- provision of surplus Wollongong city library books for Ohrid
