The next annual Chemical Clean Out in Wollongong City will be held on Saturday 14 May 2011.
Council in conjunction with the Office of Environment and Heritage NSW is holding a free household chemical collection at Bellambi Beach car park, Bott Drive, Bellambi.
The Chemical Collection will be held between 9am and 3.30pm. All citizens can drop off the following materials at the collection point:
From your home:
- Solvents and household cleaners
- Floor care products
- Ammonia based cleaners
- Fluorescent globes and tubes
From your car:
- Car batteries
Motor oils, fuels and fluids
From your garage:
- Paint and paint related products (thinners, strippers, varnish etc.)
- Pesticides and herbicides (fungicides, baits/poisons, wood preservatives)
- Poisons
- Gas bottles
- Fire extinguishers
- Pool chemicals
- Acids and alkalis
- Hobby chemicals (such as photography chemicals)
Only household quantities are accepted (20 kg or 20 litres max).
