Wollongong City Council’s Botanic Garden is excited to open today a new coffee vendor at the garden for all visitors to sit back and enjoy a coffee, whilst taking in the picturesque gardens.
‘Three Figs - Wollongong Botanic Garden Café’ will be located next to the new all abilities playground near the Murphy’s Avenue car park, the café will be open 7 days a week and will operate from 9.30 to 5pm.
Council’s Botanic Garden Curator, Paul Tracey, believes that the new café demonstrates the progress that the Botanic Garden has had in the past twelve months.
“The new café will fill the missing link in the garden and offer visitors food and beverage options, which until now visitors have had to bring themselves or go elsewhere,” said Mr Tracey.
“The new café will have a diverse range of coffee, cakes, biscuits, sandwiches and ice cream that can be enjoyed nearly everyday throughout the year.”
“The Botanic Gardens also has an outdoor theatre on offer this summer. Be entertained under the stars with the Botanic Garden playing host to the Eaton Gorge Theatre Company’s production of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ by William Shakespeare. I encourage locals to pack a picnic and enjoy the theatre in the outdoors.”
The theatre will run from Friday, 14 January until 5 February, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and on Sundays at 4pm. For tickets call 4229 1088 or book online at www.trybooking.com/KDU
