If you’ve got ideas on what type of city you want Wollongong to be like in 10 years, lend us your voice and join in a Community Summit we’d like you to climb.

Wollongong City Council will hold a Community Summit on 29 and 30 October to seek people’s thoughts on what Wollongong City should be like in the year 2022.

“What will the beaches and green spaces be like? What types of businesses will be thriving in the city? What will people be doing when they want to have fun, or eat out, or see entertainment? What type of city centre will the city have? We will be seeking answers to these types of questions when we gather at the Wollongong Town Hall,” Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery OAM said.

“For Council to have a strong vision for 2022 we have to include as many different voices from our community as possible. So Council is calling on people to register to take part in the summit.”

Community members will have to register for the summit by 10 October.
The summit will be designed to ensure that community members are able to provide their thoughts and generate ideas as freely as is possible, and will be held at the Wollongong Town Hall. It will include interactive sessions to develop a vision and priorities for the city.

To register for the summit you can visit council’s internet site or phone (02) 4227 7111. For more information you can email vision2022@wollongong.nsw.gov.au.
