Do you want to know how you can reduce the amount of rubbish you put in your bin? Over the next two weeks residents will receive Council’s annual residential waste kit information pack.
Each year Council provides the latest tips on how you can reduce your household waste and keep our city clean.
Council’s Director of Planning and Environment, Andrew Carfield, said it’s important for residents to assist Council in maintaining a strong focus on increasing recycling and reducing contamination from household waste.
“The waste kits are full of information to help residents understand Council’s waste services and provide households with the tools they need to manage their waste wisely,” said Mr Carfield.
“Council encourages all residents to avoid generating waste where possible, reuse food scraps and garden waste by setting up a compost heap in the backyard and to recycle as much as possible.”
This year’s kit will include: the ‘Your Guide to Being Waste Wise’ booklet, a brochure outlining the range of services on offer at Council’s waste depots, and stickers to be placed on top of your garbage bin, recycling bin and green waste bin to help make sorting waste easier.
