Wollongong City council has congratulated the University of Wollongong’s Innovation Campus on winning the prestigious Best Business and Industrial Park Development in Australia.

The University’s Innovation Campus was presented with the award at the Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards on Saturday 14 May.

Council’s General Manager David Farmer said a national award recognises the strong work of the University and how this has helped strengthen Wollongong city.

“In the city we are fortunate to have a campus with an international focus which has already attracted business interest from India and China, two of the largest and burgeoning economies in the world,” Mr Farmer said.

“I congratulate the Innovation Campus on their effort so far and look forward to working with the University to ensure that Wollongong remains at the forefront of innovation among businesses and universities in NSW.”
