Wollongong City Council in conjunction with the Office of Environment and Heritage will hold a free household chemical collection on Sunday 25 September at Berkeley.
The free collection day is designed to help households rid their properties of the old and unwanted chemicals or poisons.
You will be able to drop off a number of old chemicals, poisons or household items for free between 9am and 3.30pm
You can drop off the following materials:
From your home
- Solvents and household cleaners
- Floor care products
- Ammonia based cleaners
- Fluorescent globes and tubes
From your car
- Car batteries
- Motor oils, fuels and fluids
From your garage
- Paint and paint related products (thinners, strippers, or varnish)
- Pesticides and herbicides (fungicides, baits/poisons, wood preservatives)
- Poisons
- Gas bottles
- Fire extinguishers
- Pool chemicals
- Acids and alkalis
- Hobby chemicals (such as photography chemicals)
Only household quantities will be accepted (to a limit of 20 kg or 20 litres). Remember to transport your chemicals carefully so they don’t leak or break
The chemical clean out will be held at the Fred Finch Park Sporting Complex, Hooka Creek Road, Berkeley, between 9am and 3.30pm on Sunday 25 September.
