Come along to Flagstaff Hill this Friday night, 12 November, and get your ‘Mo’ dirty with rich Italian delicacies as part of the ‘Movember’ Italian themed Twilight Food of the World Markets.

From 5.30pm until dark, Flagstaff Hill will come alive with live music, face painting and market food stalls for the second of Wollongong City Council’s Twilight Food of the World events.

Council’s Events Coordinator, Lee Cramer, said each Twilight Food Night will have a theme, and with this one being in November the obvious theme choice was ‘Movember’ to raise awareness of men’s health issues.

“Recognising its Movember, information from the Cancer Council will be available at the food markets about Men’s health and the prevention of prostate cancer. I have no doubt there will also be lots of moustaches around throughout the evening,” said Lee Cramer.

“We will even be having a competition for the best home-grown or not-so-home-grown (fake) moustache.”

“There will be an ‘Italian’ feel to the night with an array of live music from accordion, sax, violin and percussion players, plus traditional Italian food – including special guest Michael’s Ristorante,” Lee Cramer said.

“We’ve made special efforts to attract more vendors so people won’t have to wait as long in line for their delicious foods,” concluded Lee Cramer.

On an environmental note, this week is National Recycling Week (8 -14 November) and we’re encouraging people to be environmentally conscious and bring along their own cup for coffee and drinks to reduce waste.

Vendors at this week’s Markets:

Turkish, Dutch, Indian, Mondo Piadina Italian, Aussie, Latin American, Shanghai and Fresh Corn.

PLUS 7 new vendors at this month’s Markets:
Lebanese, Berry Healthy, Shaved ice, Michael’s Italian BBQ, Harley’s Seafood, Mojo Picon Spanish, and more coffee vendors.
