Wollongong City Council has appointed a new Executive Officer, Wendy Fogarty, to help the Lord Mayor’s duties in the city.
Ms Fogarty is a former Management and Marketing Consultant who specialised in strategic planning, system improvement and with executive staff development.

She is former marketing and communications manager at Aftershock Solutions and has been the Vice Chairperson of Illawarra Multicultural Services and the Management and Marketing Consultant for Important and Imperative Solutions.

She has also been a director of the Illawarra Business Chamber and a management committee member of the Corrimal Chamber of Commerce.

Council’s General Manager David Farmer said Ms Fogarty’s undoubted communication and marketing skills will add to the strengths of Council’s workforce.

“While Wendy will be a valuable addition to Council’s staff, she will be working closely with the Lord Mayor and Council to ensure that Council is focussed on community and engaging communities,” Mr Farmer said. “From her previous work Wendy brings business skills which will complement the Executive Management in Council and the Lord Mayor.”

Ms Fogarty has worked for several years with national and multi-national organisations in Sydney and overseas. She has established a boutique consultancy business (Important & Imperative Business Solutions) with the aim of providing services to a diverse range of businesses. Ms Fogarty also has a background as an experienced facilitator and workplace trainer.
