Wollongong City Library and Wollongong Youth Services are hosting a series of free short film workshops to teach students film making skills.
Wollongong City Council’s Manager Community, Cultural and Library Services, Jenny Thompson, said that the workshops are a lead in activity to Youth Week.
“Local film professional, Tim Dennis, is leading the two hour workshops. We’ll be holding a special short film festival during Youth Week (1 – 10 April) at our Dapto, Thirroul and Wollongong Libraries. This festival will give us the opportunity to screen any films made as part of the workshop along with other films created by local young people.”
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for young people - a chance to showcase their creative film making skills to their friends, family and the wider community.”
Workshop attendees will learn the basics of film making from how to write a script, through to filming and the basics of editing and getting your film screened.
