Council Talks to the Community
We commissioned IRIS to carry out a community survey to:
- identify what services and facilities are important to the community
- determine how well we are performing against a range of measures.
The 2010 community survey has revealed more than 80% of residents are satisfied with our performance - a remarkable increase from 2008 when just 55% of locals said they were happy with our overall performance.
We were particularly pleased to hear the majority of residents feel we have taken positive steps to rebuild the community’s trust.
Moving forward we will maintain our commitment to good governance and invest our energies in listening to the community and increasing the organisation’s integrity, accountability and transparency.
We will be looking carefully at everything the community told us in the survey, particularly at areas where the community flagged we could be making improvements to the way we do things.
