Wollongong City Council’s Beats & Bites outdoor events kicks off this Sunday afternoon, 18 December, in Osborne Park, Wollongong.

Things get underway from 3pm when stalls selling delicious Italian and Spanish foods, are set up in Osborne Park, the green space opposite Wollongong Harbour. There’ll be live music showcasing the upcoming Illawarra Folk Festival from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

There will also be some markets stalls available on the day for the chance to finish your Christmas shopping.

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery OAM said: “This weekend, the weather forecast looks great and we’re expecting a big turn out. After all, what better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than on a picnic blanket in Osborne Park listening to some terrific music and enjoying great food.”

Beats & Bites will be held once a month throughout summer and is part of Council’s Summertime Magic program.

Beats & Bites will also be held on 22 January, 19 February and 18 March 2012 at the new time of 3pm to 7pm. For more information on the Summertime Magic program visit Council’s website.
