Wollongong City Council lifeguards have worked throughout today [Tuesday 24 January] to help the NSW police in their search for a missing boy off Towradgi Point.

Council’s lifeguards were also instrumental in assisting NSW police with a capsized rescue boat.

Three Council staff – Jason Foye, Tim Jennett, and Rhett Russell – spent the majority of today in the water searching for the missing boy demonstrating their dedication and commitment to their profession.

Council staff involved in today's search include:

  • Adam Meredith
  • Luke Meusburger
  • Paul Maidment

Beach Services Coordinator Jason Foye also has been working with all services to help facilitate and provides resources in the search.  The young boy went missing about 6.40pm on Monday 23 January. The search is programmed to resume at 8am on Wednesday 25 January.
