Wollongong City Council’s popular Twilight Markets begin again this year on Friday 7 October – and this month the markets will be swathed in pink.
With both Wollongong lighthouses in pink and fireworks, the Twilight Markets will be held at Osborne Park, Wollongong, from 5.30pm. The pink theme is to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The following Twilight Markets from November to March 2012 will be held on Flagstaff Hill. The markets will feature food vendors offering a host of scrumptious foods from Italy, Bali, Holland, India, Turkey, Shanghai, and Lebanon.
There will also be a jumping castle and face painting for market goers, while there will be the opportunity to purchase pink merchandise and donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Music will be provided by radio i98FM.
The Twilight Markets will be held on the first Friday of each month throughout summer and is part of Council’s Summertime Magic program, which includes free Moonlight Movies in Thirroul and Dapto during November and Beats and Bites program for the summer. The Moonlight Movies are sponsored by IMB and TAFE Illawarra Institute.
Council’s Beats and Bites program of music and assorted foods will be held in Osborne Park on the third Sunday of the month until 18 March 2012. For more information on the Twilight Markets visit Council's website.
