Wollongong City Council’s monthly Twilight Markets get into the festive spirit this Friday, 2 December.
Everyone’s encouraged to dig out their best Christmas hats, shirts and bling, and come along to the final market of the year at Flagstaff Hill from 5.30pm.
As usual, you’ll be able to go on a culinary tour of the world with market stalls from Indonesia, India and Turkey among the popular foodie options. The Wandering Woodfire Oven, which made its first appearance at the November markets, is back. And there’ll be a stall selling fresh coconut water – the new ‘it’ drink that’s getting celebrity endorsement from the likes of Madonna, Leonardo diCaprio and Demi Moore.
To help promote World AIDS Day, on 1 December, a marquee will be set up and people will be able to buy red ribbons and red wristband to support the cause.
The Twilight Markets will be held on the first Friday of each month throughout summer and are part of Council’s Summertime Magic program, which includes the music and food event, Beats and Bites. It’s held in Osborne Park from 4pm-8pm on the third Sunday of the month until 18 March 2012.
