Dig out your green and gold gear for an Australian-themed Twilight Markets this Friday 6 January at Flagstaff Hill.

Not only is everyone is encouraged to wear their Aussie colours to the first of the year’s monthly markets, but Corrimal Rotary Club will cook to the theme, selling sausage sandwiches and egg and bacon rolls.

The barbecue joins an international line up of foods including Italian woodfired pizzas, Spanish Chorizo rolls, and Chinese dumplings.

All community members are encouraged to pack up a picnic rug and come along to Flagstaff Hill between 5.30-8.30pm.

“We’re really excited about this latest event on Council’s community calendar. Everyone we have mentioned the food markets too has been really positive about it, and both young and old are booking the first date in their calendar,” Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery OAM said.

“The international food markets are part of Council’s strategy to create more activity in the city centre. We hope the attraction of good food, relaxed music and a spectacular setting will draw more families to the foreshore this summer.”

The Twilight Markets are part of Council’s Summertime Magic program and will be held at Flagstaff Hill on the first Friday of every month between October and March.
