Submissions are now closed and under review.

Community Consultation is a continuing conversation between Council and the community. Now that Wollongong City Council is governed by Administrators it’s even more important that the community as a whole is able to have conversations with Council through a variety of opportunities.

Have your say on how we consult
The Community Consultation Discussion Paper is on public exhibition. The closing date for submission has been extended until Wednesday 27 August 2008 to encourage further feedback.

The Discussion Paper is available on the right or can viewed at all Council Libraries or at one of our kiosks. 

To make it easier for you to give us feedback a feedback form is available on the right also. You can have your say by sending us a letter, fax or email. 

You have until 27 August to view the Discussion Paper and have your say. This information will then be used to write Council’s new Community Consultation Policy.

Background to the review
In April, Council resolved to review its Community Engagement Framework, Policy and Options. As part of that review we visited Local Area meetings, held two Community Forums and conducted a survey. We asked for feedback from you about:

• how you want to receive information from Council 
• how and when you want to be able to provide feedback to Council 
• how you would like to communicate with Council’s Administrators?

What happens next?
The feedback you give us on the Discussion Paper will help us write a new Community Consultation Policy. We will also have a better understanding of how to consult you in future. We want you to have your say on what types of activities and opportunities will work for you.
