If your children are at school when an emergency occurs, it is understandable that you will want to collect them as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it may not always be safe to do so.

Please tune in to your local radio station for advice and details about any arrangements that may have been put in place before you go to pick them up.

Schools and education facilities are required by law to have an Emergency Plan for the safe evacuation of the school. Check with your child’s school about their Emergency Plan. Find out if children will be kept at school or sent home on their own and how you can arrange for them to be picked up.
