Bushcare

Through our Bushcare program, community groups, industries, schools and individuals are working with us to help conserve and restore our unique local biodiversity and contribute to the sustainable management of our natural resources. Bushcare now supports around forty active volunteer groups working on projects like creek and bushland restoration, open space revegetation and fire hazard reduction works.

Volunteer work is greatly valued in our community. By joining as Bushcare group, you can help restore our environment and learn more about what we can do to protect our biodiversity in our everyday lives.

Bushcare groups tend to organise their own work schedules, usually meeting on a set day of the month at a set time. Groups generally meet for two hours. Some groups meet at more irregular intervals. New volunteers are welcome at all Bushcare events. To ensure safety and comfort, please wear long sleeves and trousers, strong shoes and a hat.
