Bushcare groups

Bushcare groups tend to organise their own work schedules, usually meeting on a set day of the month at a set time. Each group generally has:

• at least one coordinator
• a core of enthusiastic volunteers to work on projects
• a working management plan to direct activities and keep the group on track and focused. This is worked out with the Bushcare coordinator
• local community support to help out on large planting days and to reduce vandalism
• opportunities to meet with other groups to socialise, share ideas and successes
• achievable aims and objectives
• resources and support from Council
• opportunities for receiving grant funding if it is required.

New volunteers are welcome at all Bushcare events. To ensure safety and comfort, please wear long sleeves and trousers, strong shoes and a hat. All tools and equipment are provided. If you are interested in joining a Bushcare group click here for groups' meeting times.
