Our beautiful picnic areas are a source of great pride for the whole community. We urge all beach-goers to make use of the recycling bins which are installed across six beaches in the Wollongong area:
- Stanwell Park
- Austinmer
- Thirroul
- Bulli
- City Beach
- Port Kembla.

Wollongong Botanic Garden
The picturesque 22 hectare garden features a dazzling array of plant specimens, from both tropic and temperate regions. Over 200,000 people visit the Botanic Garden each year to admire features such as the rose garden, the azalea bank and the Illawarra rainforest. The ideal location for wedding ceremonies, and bookings are available throughout the year. The Garden's Education Centre provides regular educational forums and exciting school holiday activities for children. The Botanic Garden is bound by Murphys Avenue, Robsons Road and Northfields Avenue, Keiraville.
Pioneer Park
Pioneer Park - originally a pioneer cemetery - now provides a picturesque setting for weddings. Its flourishing garden comprises 1600 rose bushes which flower from late November to March. Bookings are available for private functions. Pioneer Park is located at the corner of Kembla and Bank streets, Wollongong.
Foreshore Parks
