Databases

The Library subscribes to databases which will give you access to newspaper and magazine articles and information on subjects such as health, science, law, history and literature.  A database is a great place to find up-to-date medical and scientific information not yet published in books.

Activities and programs

The Library holds activities throughout the school holidays.  These activities will be promoted on our website, in the Advertiser and at all Local Libraries.  If you have any enquires regarding the activities or programs please contact your local library.

Space to meet, read and study

Areas are available in the Central and District libraries for you to meet, read and study.  There are two private study rooms available for use in the Central Reference Library.  Library members can book these rooms for a period of up to 2 hours.

Travelling pants of sisterhood by Ann Brashares

Wollongong Library recently participated in the 'travelling pants' project - a joint initiative with Public Libraries NSW and the State Library of NSW.  Our pants travelled from Gosford to Port Stepehens, to Tomaree and finally to Wollongong Library before returning to Gosford Library.  Three sisters decorated our jeans before they 'visited' iconic places within the Wollongong Local Government area.

A wiki was created in honour of this project to connect all the libraries involved and to promote youth and their activities. On the wiki you will find links to other libraries and the shenanigans they got up to as well as Wollongong's contribution which includes a poem written by a Dapto Library staff member.
