History of Comic Gong
Wollongong City Libraries have run Comic Gong as an annual event since 2013. The very first festival was held at Corrimal District Library and Community Centre and saw over 1000 people attend.
In 2014, Comic Gong moved to Wollongong City Centre to be held over four locations: Wollongong Central Library, Town Hall, Art Gallery and Arts Precinct. Each year the event has grown bigger and bigger and in 2018 there was over 12 600 attendees across all four locations.
Comic Gong is now one of Wollongong's major annual events. Although Comic Gong continues to grow and change, it remains at heart a celebration that brings together our community.
