Information & support for HSC students

The Library aims to support local HSC students by providing access to relevant information and resources and holding help sessions and presentations for HSC students throughout the year.

Wollongong City Libraries wish all students sitting the 2011 HSC great success for the exams and beyond.

HSC Resources

HSC and School Certificate resources are available for loan from all branches of the library.  These resources are also available for use in the Central Reference Library.  They includes study notes and guides on a wide variety of subjects including maths, science, religion, english, biology, legal studies, chemistry and physics.  

The Central Reference Library also holds an extensive collection of non fiction materials covering a wide range of topics suitable for study and research.  The Local Studies staff can help you find historical and current information about your local area, including information to get you started with your Senior Geography Project.

 

Personal Interest Projects (PIPs)

Wollongong Library holds PIPs from 2009 onwards. A list can be found by clicking here. They can only be used in the library and are not able to be copied, reproduced or borrowed.

The State Library of NSW has digitised selected sections of award winning PIPs for the HSC subject, Society and Culture. They show excellence in various areas related to the construction of the PIPs. The link to these can be found here.

Weblinks & HSC

Weblinks links to up-to-date and accurate information on a wide range of topics. 

Databases

The Library subscribes to databases which will give you access to newspaper and magazine articles and information on subjects such as health, science, law, history and literature.  A database is a great place to find up-to-date medical and scientific information not yet published in books.

Activities & Programs

The Library holds help sessions and presentations throughout the year for HSC students. These activities will be promoted on our website, in the Advertiser and at all Local Libraries.  If you have any enquires regarding the activities or programs please contact your local library.

Space to Meet, Read & Study

Areas are available in the Central and District libraries for you to meet, read and study.  There are two private study rooms available for use in the Central Reference Library.  Library members can book these rooms for a period of up to 2 hours. Free access to the Internet and WiFi is also available.
