2012 is the National Year of Reading. Australian libraries are linking together all the great things that already happen around books, reading and literacy, and giving them an extra boost, with inspirational programs and events taking place across the country.
Outdoor Reading Libraries - During the April school holidays we hosted several Outoor Reading Libraries across the region. This promotion gave people of all ages the chance to grab books and magazines and to sit back and read in the great outdoors. This was a successful National Year of Reading initiative and the first time that Outdoor Libraries have been provided in the Illawarra.
