Library StorytimesStorytimes at Wollongong City Library are lots of fun and free! We read and tell stories, show films or videos, sing songs, play games and do craft. Storytimes held during school hours cater for preschool children aged between two and five years and their caregivers. Wollongong Library Dapto Library Warrawong Library Unanderra Library Corrimal Library Thirroul Library Helensburgh Library After School ActivitiesAfter school activities are held at our District Libraries and cater for children of all ages but are especially aimed at the four to ten year olds. The age range is a guide as parents are the best judges of their child's capabilities and enjoyment of the program. Come along and give it a try! These activities are held only throughout the school term. Corrimal Dapto Warrawong Born to ReadA literacy initiative for babiesThe Born to Read program is a literacy program designed for 0 to 24 months old babies and their parents or caregivers. During the 10 week program, babies and their grownups will be exposed to language, books, and playful activities. In order to allow for the most positive interaction between you and your child, it is best to have one adult per child. Exceptions are made for twins and triplets. Group size is limited to 10 children. No older siblings please. Morning tea for adults will be provided. Held at Wollongong, Dapto, Corrimal and Warrawong Libraries BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL For further information please phone Dapto: Ph 4251 7722 Toddler TimeToddler Time is a new literacy program for 2-3 year olds and their parents or caregivers. It's a fast paced program with lots of action rhymes. No bookings are required, just drop in and join the fun! For further information and enquiries please contact 4227 7428 Held every Thursday at 10.30am Junior Book ClubThe Junior Book Club is aimed at children 8-12 years of age. It is an informal get together to discuss your favorite books and authors. Each month there is a theme and you can choose a book from the selected book list. Participants are encouraged to read a short passage from their book and to discuss their likes or dislikes about the book. Lots of fun with interesting themes, guests and celebrations. Book WeekEach library holds displays, library tours and activities and children are encouraged to visit the library to read the Award winners during Book Week. Check out the Children's Book Council site for notice of nominations and winners. |
