Generally, yes, however some libraries will only lend items on the condition they are used in the Library.

How long can I keep the item?

The owning library determines the length of the loan. Loan periods are not standard, but are generally between a 1 and 4 week period. Please note that an item can be recalled by the owning library prior to the due date at any time.

Renewals may be possible if requested prior to the due date. This will depend on the policy of the owning library and demand for the item.

What if I want a photocopy of a magazine article or other document?

Check that we don't already have what you want. If you are unsure ask a Librarian to help you find what you want.

A copyright declaration must be signed on collection of this type of item. The usual fee for a photocopied article is $16.50.

What items can't I request on Interlibrary Loan?

Items available in the Wollongong City Libraries collection, including items on order, in processing, in transit or in the reference collection, will not be requested from other libraries

Serial (magazine/issues) and digital content may be requested from other libraries but not all libraries will loan these out. Patrons can submit a 'Suggestion for Purchase' as an alternative if this becomes the case.
