Dapto Square

Work has started to refresh Dapto Square.

Feedback indicates that the community currently find the Square uninviting. The square is cluttered and the location of seating and planter boxes makes it easy for people to hide and carry out anti social behaviour.

Dapto Square is located in a significant spot in the centre of Dapto, facing onto the Princes Highway and providing an access way to the Dapto Mall.

The Square was designed as a community space. Council, together with the local state and federal members want to give this space back to the residents.

Work is now underway to revitalise Dapto Square by removing clutter to open up the area and increase sight lines. By making the area more open and accessible, the design should improve safety and accessibility. Council will also install modern seating, bins and more appropriate landscaping.

Dapto Square will be transformed into a more open and modern space for the whole Dapto community to enjoy.

The project will be made possible thanks to $250,000 in funding from the Federal Government’s Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program.
