Public art enhances the unique identity and contemporary image of Wollongong by:

  • expressing local identity and distinctiveness 
  • improving and animating public space 
  • enhancing the local economy 
  • developing community spirit and pride.

We coordinate and project manage public art across the city and provide advice to businesses and organisations interested in implementing public art projects. We can provide:

  • a register of artists 
  • advice on processes for employing artists and drafting contracts 
  • a public art guide to promote our local collection 
  • a register of outdoor cultural material with detailed information on each artwork in the city. 

Expression of Interest - Curio Gallery 2018-2019

Artists are invited to apply for 4 – 6 week exhibition opportunities at Curio Gallery 2018-2019 in Wollongong Mall. 

Applications must include:
  • A cover letter (no more than TWO pages) addressing the criteria detailed in the Artist Brief [PDF 1 MB]
  • Artists CV (no more than TWO pages)
  • Examples of current or relevant artwork (Maximum 10 PDF images emailed or on CD)
  • Concept idea / artwork for the project 

Deadline for submissions 

Monday 13th August 2018 5pm

Expression of Interest - Contemporary Art Light Projection Project, Town Hall Laneway Wollongong

 
We are seeking artists to submit an Expression of Interest for up to four artist(s) to develop and create a digital artwork that will be projected from above, down onto the walkway.
 
The artists will be required to provide three artworks in a digital file format that can be loaded into new equipment recently installed in the Town Hall Laneway in Wollongong. The artwork will add to the character and identity of the Arts Precinct and the Wollongong CBD as a dynamic and creative hub. 
 
Applications must include:
  • A cover letter (no more than TWO pages) addressing the criteria detailed in the Artist Brief [PDF 517 KB]
  • Artists CV (no more than TWO pages)
  • Examples of current or relevant artwork (Maximum 10 PDF images emailed or on CD or USB)
  • Concept idea / artwork for the project 

Deadline for submissions 

Monday 13th August 2018 5pm
