Health & Safety
There are a large number of health and safety regulations associated with running a business.
The following businesses are required to be registered with Wollongong City Council:
- accommodation facilities
- food premises
- hairdressing salons and skin penetration premises
- home businesses
- street trading and markets
- mortuaries
- all buildings which contain water cooling systems
- any place with a public swimming pool or spa pool.
Event organisers are also required to follow a few regulations as outlined below.
Council investigates complaints associated with health and safety risks, such as vermin and smoking in public places.
