Golden Oldies: Screen Dreams in Pictures

Golden Oldies: Screen Dreams in Pictures (aka Screen Dreams) is a positive ageing project that invited local seniors to recreate scenes from iconic movies and television shows.

Between October 2014 and January 2015, 46 enthusiastic seniors aged between 51 and 98 took part in this project. They were involved in every step of the process, from brainstorming concepts through to the final photo shoots. Scroll down to see our video of The Making of Screen Dreams.

Scenes were staged at various locations across the Wollongong Local Government Area.

This initiative was supported by funding from the Office for Ageing, Family and Community Services, and Local Government NSW.

We would also like to acknowledge:

  • The Silver Belles Dance Group
  • Uniting Aged Care Farmborough Heights
  • Bernie Fischer Photography
  • Total Bliss Hair and Body Spa (Roza Rojano)
  • The Arcadians Theatre Group
  • Luxe Event Décor.

An exhibition of Screen Dreams photographs will be displayed at Wollongong Central from 16 – 29 March 2015.
