I Have a Dream
  • Born in the Illawarra, married a non-Aboriginal woman.
  • In 1965 my mum and dad helped formed the Illawarra Aboriginal Advancement League with the unions and other Aboriginal community members.
  • My mother Auntie Mary Davis was president of the Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation for 21 years.
  • I am a home owner, with three beautiful daughters.
  • I believe education is very important and allows you to make informed decisions and good career choices.
  • I spent 11 ½ years at the steelworks as a labourer and faced racism, which I overcame by being proud of who I am and where I came from.
  • I currently work for Illawarra ITeC has an Aboriginal Enterprise Development Office; I’m a Director of the Board for the Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation and a Director of the Board for the Illawarra Academy of Sport.
