Our Unexpected Child

In the late 70's we had our first child. When he was 2 days old, he lifted his head and moved it slowly from one side to the other, following the sound of a jet going overhead. He played his first joke on me at 9 months and laughed and laughed. At 3yrs he could sing a harmony with music on the first hearing. At 6 he read Lord of the Rings.

Geniuses are born that way; usually the first child, with nongenius parents. This is one of the most disadvantaged types of children in our schools and in our society.

There are no teachers, no resources, no curriculum, no peers - for the child or the parents.
